The governing body of this futurity shall be: The Chairperson, The Treasurer, The Secretary, and 2 members from the Red River Horse Breeders board. A futurity is a program designed to promote the young horse. It provides classes for weanlings through 3 year olds. It is a show based on a breeding program, with select sires, designed to promote and encourage the horse breeder/owner to breed the best quality horses possible by selecting stallions that compliment their mares. A program like this helps boost the market and increase the breeders' incentives for raising quality horses. It gives the breeder/owner a chance to compare their breeding choices with others. This futurity is named the Red River Valley International Select Sire Futurity.
