Awards

The Red River Horse Breeders Association awards the following:

• Horseman and Horsewoman
  The Red River Valley International Select Sire Futurity has an Award called the Horseman and Horsewoman of the Year. 
  To nominate someone please contact Don Patterson or any of the board members.
  
  
• Super Horse
  The Red River Valley International Select Sire Futurity has a program called the "Select Sire Futurity Super Horse Award."  Points are tabulated separately for American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) horses with an award given for each breed. A horse must show as a two-year old to win the Superhorse Award, but doesn't need to show every year.
  
  
• Sire of the Year (last year for this award will be 2020)
  The Red River Valley Horse Breeders Association began the Sire of the Year award in October 2011. It's long been the goal of the association to promote, recognize, and reward a stallion owner's involvement in and promotion of the Red River Valley Select Sire Futurity and Great Midwest International Horse Show.
  
  The Horse Breeders will award the stallion's owner whose offspring are best represented in the futurity. This is an annual award, based on each year's futurity show and awards are given to both American Quarter Horse Association (AGHA) and Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) horses.
